Visual Edit

Edits a series visually using the mouse. A series can be modified with multiple discrete line segments and/or continuous lines.

New values for an interval series must be monotonic along the X axis.

New values for an XY series need not be monotonic along the X axis.


Draw Edit Line

Click the Draw Edit Line button to initiate visual editing. The mouse cursor displays a pen tool indicating editing mode is active.

To edit with discrete line segments:

  1. Move the edit cursor to the desired location of the Destination window.
  2. Left click to anchor the line segment.
  3. Move to the next line segment location and left click to anchor.
  4. Continue the move and anchor process as desired.
  5. Right click to complete the edit line.
  6. Continue as above to define a new edit line or click the OK button to complete visual editing.

To edit with a continuous line:

  1. Move the edit cursor to the desired location of the Destination window.
  2. Left click to anchor the line segment.
  3. Keep the left button depressed while moving the cursor as desired to define the continuous edit line.
  4. Right click to complete the edit line.
  5. Continue as above to define a new edit line or click the OK button to complete visual editing.

Discrete edit line segments and continuous edit lines can be mixed during the line creation process. Multiple edit lines can be defined and a single edit line can contain both discrete and continuous sections.


Destination

Sets the target of the visual edit process. The Destination can differ from the current window.
