Enable this property to display messages regarding the search status of a requested file. Normally set to Off, this property can be useful in diagnosing problems locating and opening file based objects such as Menus, Macros, SPL functions and Worksheets.
Certain functions and operations result in a prompt in the form of a Yes/No question, such as: File Exists, Overwrite Y/N?. Prompts require interactive action. Select this property to set the automatic response to these queries to Yes each time, No each time or continue to prompt.
Status messages and other results normally display on the Status Line at the bottom of the application window. These messages can be left, center or right justified for optimal viewing.
This property determines whether standard messages and/or error messages are displayed in the Status Line. Normally, both types of messages are displayed. These messages can also be directed to a pop-up message box. The message box provides for more prominent display, but requires interactive action to dismiss.
Messages can result from a variety of sources. Use this property to select the specific type of messages to display. In some cases, if the application window is small, the entire message may not fit in the space provided and a More prompt may result. This prompt requires interactive action to display the remaining message. Disabling More Processing, supresses the prompt allowing further processing to continue as if the entire message fit in the space provided.
Application messages and user input can be directed to a files for later review.
To create a log file, set Log Messages and specify the destination log file name. All application messages and user input are included in the log file.
Message logging is performed on a per session basis. To preserve messages from session to session, set Append Messages.
Set Log History and specify the destination history file name to direct user input to a history file. Only user input is captured in the history file.
Set Add History to add the contents of the history file to the editor recall list on startup. User commands from previous sessions are preserved.
Press View to view the current contents of the log file and/or history file. Press Clear to delete the current log file and/or history file.
