Metafile

A metafile is a vector drawing rendition of a window or entire Worksheet. Metafiles can be created with the Edit -> Copy from Window or Edit -> Copy from Worksheet menu options and can be pasted into many applications including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Copy Metafile to File

Determines the destination of the metafile for Edit -> Copy from Window or Edit -> Copy from Worksheet operations.

Check to send a metafile image of the Worksheet or current window to a file. Set Metafile Filename to specify the destination file.

If unchecked, the metafile is sent to the clipboard and the clipboard metafile can be pasted into other applications.

Metafile Size

Determines the size of the metafile image.

Screen	Sets the metafile image size to the screen size of the application.
Custom	Sets the metafile image size to a user defined size. Set the Custom Size width and height options in inches or millimeters.

Metafile Resolution

Determines the output resolution of the metafile image.

Screen	Same resolution as the display.
Printer	Same resolution as the selected printer. The printer normally supports a higher resolution than the screen.

Output File Type

Sets the metafile format when Copy Metafile to File is checked.

Standard	Normal Aldus placeable metafile. Supported by most applications.
Enhanced (EMF)	Enhanced Metafile Format (EMF).
Windows (WMF)	Older Windows Metafile Format (WMF). Useful for some legacy applications.

Metafile Filename

The destination file when Copy Metafile to File is checked.

Custom Size

Determines metafile image size when Copy Metafile to File is checked. Set the width and height in inches or millimeters.
