Visual Clip

Clips a series visually using the mouse. Series values can be clipped above or below a drawn line or rectangle.

Draw Clip Rect/Line

Click the Draw Clip Rect or Draw Clip Line button to initiate visual clipping. The mouse cursor displays an edit tool indicating clipping mode is active.

To clip a series using a rectangle:

1. Set Clip Shape Type to Rect.
2. Move the clip cursor to the desired location of the Destination window.
3. Left click to anchor the rectangle corner.
4. Keep the left button depressed while moving the cursor as desired to define the clip rectangle.
5. Release the left button to complete the clip rectangle.
6. Continue as above to define a new clip rectangle or click the OK button to complete visual clipping.

To clip a series using discrete line segments:

1. Set Clip Shape Type to Line.
2. Move the clip cursor to the desired location of the Destination window.
3. Left click to anchor the line segment.
4. Move to the next line segment location and left click to anchor.
5. Continue the move and anchor process as desired.
6. Right click to complete the clip line.
7. Continue as above to define a new clip line or click the OK button to complete visual clipping.

To clip a series using a continuous line:

1. Set Clip Shape Type to Line.
2. Move the clip cursor to the desired location of the Destination window.
3. Left click to anchor the line segment.
4. Keep the left button depressed while moving the cursor as desired to define the continuous clip line.
5. Right click to complete the clip line.
6. Continue as above to define a new clip line or click the OK button to complete visual clipping.

Discrete clip line segments and continuous clip lines can be mixed during the line creation process. Multiple clip lines can be defined and a single clip line can contain both discrete and continuous sections.

Destination

Sets the target of the visual clipping process. The Destination can differ from the current window.

Clip Method

Determines the values to clip. Select Above to set all the values above the clipping rectangle or line to the drawn clip shape. Select Below to set all the values below the clipping rectangle or shape to the drawn clip shape.

Clip Shape Type

Specifies the clip shape as a Rectangle or Line. Values above or below the shape are clipped as specified by the Clip Method.

Threshold for Rectangle

If Clip Shape Type is Rectangle, sets the clip threshold to the Bottom, Middle or Top of the drawn clipping rectangle. Values are clipped above or below this threshold as specified by Clip Method.
