DSP Development Corporation Announces DADiSP® 6.9
Parallel computations, 64-bit array addressing, Python support and an
updated GUI simplify complex data analysis.
Newton, MA May 15, 2023
DSP Development Corporation announces DADiSP 6.9, the newest release of
the engineering spreadsheet designed specifically for technical data analysis.
DADiSP 6.9 adds parallel support to many fundamental data analysis and signal
processing routines to take advantage of today's multi-core CPUs.
Speed improvements of 10% up to 30x faster than previous versions have
been achieved. Improvements cover a wide range of functions including
real and complex math, data generation, sorting, FFT and matrix
manipulation.
Series and arrays are addressed with 64-bit indices to support
tera-byte data sizes subject to operating system limitations.
Optimized virtual series enable transparent and efficient processing of
series much larger than available system RAM with no changes to user
defined analysis algorithms.
The included PyLink Module runs Python programs directly from DADiSP
with automatic data exchange between DADiSP and Python. Both built-in and
custom Python functions or scripts are executed just as if they were
native DADiSP functions.
DADiSP 6.9 defaults to UTF-8 for internal Unicode string encoding providing international
language and symbol support. International text can be manipulated and
lexicographically sorted just like plain ASCII text. Multilingual
strings can be used anywhere ASCII strings are used, including macro,
variable, function, series, dataset and Worksheet names.
DADiSP 6.9 extends DADiSP's Series Processing Language to support
modern programming constructs such as optional function argument
initialization, try-catch error trapping, static functions, named
argument assignments, short circuit conditionals, logical array
addressing and non-local variables. SPL's C/C++ syntax offers a familiar
programming style allowing users to create custom routines using well
understood programming techniques.
DADiSP 6.9 also adds an updated clean and simple GUI with a contemporary
color scheme and high DPI monitor support to provide as many features as
possible without undue complexity. Interface changes are implemented
as enhancements to the tried and true traditional DADiSP 6.9 GUI
allowing existing users to operate without disruption to the
established workflow.
"DADiSP 6.9
offers thousands of state of the art analysis routines with an intuitive and familiar
user interface to provide one of the most comprehensive data analysis
tools available today," said Randy Race, DSP's Chief Technical Officer.
"DADiSP is used by tens of thousands of scientists and engineers
worldwide as a high productivity alternative to traditional
spreadsheet and text based programming."
DADiSP 6.9 for Windows is priced at $1995.00 and
includes 90 days of technical support. DADiSP 6.9 is now available for
general release.
