ISSTR

Purpose:

Returns 1 if the input is a string.

Syntax:

ISSTR(val)

val

-

A series, scalar or string value to test.

Returns:

An integer, 1, if the input is a string, else 0.

Example:

a = {1};

b = {};

c = "yes";

 

isstr(a) == 0

isstr(b) == 0

isstr(c) == 1

Remarks:

ISSTR always returns an integer.
