REAL

Purpose:

Returns the Real component of a Complex expression.

Syntax:

REAL(val)

val

-

A scalar, series or table.

Returns:

A scalar, series, or table.

Example:

real(42.1)

 

returns 42.1.

Example:

real(3.2 + 4.7i)

 

returns 3.2.

Example:

a = {1 + 10i, 2 + 20i, 3 + 30i, 4 + 40i};

b = real(a);

 

b == {1, 2, 3, 4}

 

b is a series that contains the real part of a.

Remarks:

REAL returns a real scalar or real series.
