# GEXP

## Purpose:

Generates an exponential series in accordance
with the specified parameters.

## Syntax:

GEXP(length, spacing,
factor, offset)

length |
- |
An integer, the length of the output series. |

spacing |
- |
A real, the spacing (delta x) between each
point on the x-axis. |

factor |
- |
Optional. A real, the
expansion factor along the x-axis. Defaults to 1. |

offset |
- |
Optional. A real, the
offset along x-axis, specified in radians. Defaults to 0. |

## Returns:

A series.

## Example:

gexp(100, 0.1, 2, 5)

creates an exponential series shifted
5 x-units along the x-axis and compressed by a factor of 2. The first
half of this series is equivalent to taking every second point from a
gexp(100, 0.1) series.

## Remarks:

The formula used to generate each point,
*n*, in the series is as follows:

y[n] = EXP(spacing
• factor • (n-1)
+ offset)
