Header Parameters

Dataset Name:

This is the name of the Dataset which will hold the data. Dataset names can be up to 15 alphanumeric characters (including the underscore _ ), and are case sensitive. The default Dataset name is the filename of the data file being imported.

Version Number:

The version number can be any integer between 1 and 999. Use "Nxt" as the argument for DADiSP to find the highest existing version of the Dataset and set the new Version to the next higher value. If you are importing multiple Series into the same Dataset, make sure you explicitly set the version number. The default version number is "Nxt".

Series Name:

This is the name of the Series which will hold the data. Series names can be up to 15 alphanumeric characters (including the underscore _ ), and are case sensitive. The default Series name is SERIES_1.

Sample Rate:

This is the rate at which the data was sampled (i.e., the number of samples per horizontal unit). The sampling rate is the inverse of the sample spacing (i.e., the number of horizontal units between samples). The default sampling rate is 1.

Date Acquired:

Use a string in MM-DD-YYYY format to specify the date when the data was collected. The default is the current operating system date.

Time Acquired:

Use a string in HH:MM:SS.ss format to specify the time when the data was collected. The default is the current operating system time.

Horizontal Units:

Choose the x-axis units for the sampled data. Click on the arrow button and select units from the picklist, or type in your own units. The default horizontal units are "Seconds".

Vertical Units:

Choose the y-axis units for the sampled data. Click on the arrow button and select units from the picklist, or type in your own units. The default vertical units are "Unspecified".

Comments:

Type in a string of up to 128 character spaces for comments or notes to store with the Dataset. Each Series in the Dataset gets the same COMMENT. There is no default value.
